Adventures of an open Pinterest Board part 2!

One of the biggest hits on my blog is the post where I reveal what happens when you make your pinterest board public for your friends to post on. A post I didn't expect to be so big, ended up being huge.
See Part One!
I invited some new friends to post and let it run wild and what I am left with, is part two.

Yeah, so, the only thing that could make this picture better, is if the girls' antlers were glittered.
Mental note made.

When I saw this, all I could think was "Brilliant." This would be a cheap and very personal favor to give out. And you could make it really personal by putting a space for song requests on the invitation.

I love these sweet little Champagne bottles with straws. They are really perfect for the ladies to get ready with. We will also NEED want glittered wine glasses for toasting! I think it would be too sweet to have each girl have one in their favorite colors!

When I needed to gauge the interest in the types of bridesmaids dresses we might need to look at, they jumped right on in and showed me what they liked the most.

Sister & Bridesmaids Picture.

So, here's the deal. I hated veils. I hated the tradition behind it and I couldn't stand them.
And now here I am. Completely sold on them. Why?
INSERT. BOW. HERE.
Uh, hi. That wins.

I highly recommend opening your Pinterest boards to your bridesmaids and close friends.
The difference in ideas and their input really does make it so much more fun and personal to plan.

My First Bridal Expo & The First Big Change.

Hello, lovelies!
Yesterday I went to my very first bridal expo.
For those of you who don't know what a bridal expo is, it's when vendors come and set up booths and show you what services or products they have to offer and give you all of their information in hopes you may be impressed enough to choose them as your vendor. There are also door prizes, grand prizes (JUST FOR BEING THERE!) and deals/freebies. I have a free chiropractic appointment/adjustment. WIN.
There was a fashion show, there were caterers, there were jewelers, bridal gowns, and many others.
Not to mention, food. Cake. Tasting.

It was wonderful. It was overwhelming. It was enlightening.
In going to this expo, I found a venue. A beautiful, BRAND NEW, Rustic venue.
We've been struggling with a venue. They are either too small, too much, or really really polished.
When I first pictured Rustic, I pictured burlap, lace, browns.
Now, now it changed. I mean, REALLY changed.
I couldn't figure out how to tie in Honeysuckle & Honeybee into that form of rustic.
I couldn't figure out how to fit pink and yellow into it without it looking like an Easter Basket.
Then I realized. That brown, neutral, lace and burlap rustic, that's what EVERYONE is starting to do.
That's the new trend. It's turning into something impersonal.
We found something new.
Something still rustic but a completely different kind of rustic.
Plantation Rustic.
Pink Gingham, Yellow Gingham, Frothy Plantation Dress.
BBQ, Sweet Tea, Southern Manners.
And now, everything we wanted, fits.
The venue, the pasture, the land, makes it look like a real plantation, just up North.

Adventures of an Open Pinterest Board.

I decided a very long time ago, that I was going to let my wedding pinterest board to be open to certain people to pin on. What came up? A TON of amazing ideas that I've never seen, huge amounts of inspiration, and things that other people would like to see coming into our wedding.
Their judgement in picking these things, are FANTASTIC.
Here are some of their pins!

1. I love the backwoods boy/ fairy tale princess idea here.
2. Most perfect mix of my man and me.

I love the burlap flowers, the daisies, and the book page flower.

I love pictures and the only thing I would change about it are the berries. I'm using baby's breath.
My honey and his family have a tradition of playing horseshoes, so wouldn't it be fantastic to honor that, too?

Lace, burlap, baby's breath. Perfection. I love Buntings and the cute little lanterns.

Please & Thank you. And P.S. The hearts? Amazing.
I thought I was the only one who dots their I's with hearts.

Tulle & Lights. Need I say more?

It's amazing how well these girls know me. Lilly Lovin' & Planners. Matching for the Lovely Ladies!

Etsy lovin', wedding edition.

A few days ago, I did a feature of my favorite items/people in the Etsy world.
I focused more on items that were something I could splurge on and use whenever, never did I think to do a full on search for one of the most important days of my life.
I was SHOCKED at the amount of wedding items I found.

There were the most beautiful to-do lists from GrandmasLittleLilly.
I have to be organized and it HAS to be pretty!

I loved all of the decorations.
BlessHerHeartDesigns hit it head on with this one. I LOVE wooden letters and chevron.
The burlap rosette was irresistible, too!

The items from theartsyhippie were a little more expensive, but a girl can dream.
The rosettes are a must.

I love lace and burlap. Enough said.

I loved mudpiesandmarigolds items.
Simple and oh so sweet!

There were SO many bridesmaids gifts that are cheaper than anywhere else.
NipponEki has the most adorable clutches

SweetSouthernCompany has absolutely adorable bridal party tumblers

These robes from ComfyClothing have my heart!

There was even something cute for Daddy.
AllAboutYouCreations had the perfect little accent for dad.
There is NO way ANY dad wouldn't love that.

Seriously though, most of these things are such great deals.
Not to mention you are helping a small business, nothing is better than that.
